“I engaged Jane for support for my son Freddie, who at the age of 5 was diagnosed with Perthes disease, a rare condition where the blood doesn’t reach the femur of the hip and the hip is fractured in hundreds of places as a consequence. Jane is a consummate professional who really knows her stuff. She has a practical, patient, no nonsense approach yet infuses that with empathy and warmth. Jane went the extra mile for my family and gave talks at his school to staff and students in order to help those alongside Freddie understand the struggles he was facing practically and emotionally. This she did with passion and sensitivity.  I recommend Jane to you wholeheartedly and would not hesitate in engaging her should Freddie need further support”.

“ I engaged Jane and Gemma to assist me with support for my son F***, who with ADHD, dyslexia and developmental language disorder, struggles to thrive in the classroom and life at home can be very challenging. After an initial (and very thorough ) consultation and comprehensive forms for both school and myself, they established their priorities and came to visit F***, assessing him with a full range of gross and fine motor coordination and visual integration difficulties with obvious skill, experience but also empathy and humour and bucket loads of emotional intelligence to get F*** through some of the more arduous assessments. They provided me with a detailed report with some enlightening reveals, particularly around sensory issues. On their advice and recommendation we learned about providing a sensory diet for F*** to include activities, sensory snacks and a myriad useful tips and tools. We have been able to implement sensory circuits at home and at school and he has been thrilled with his weighted blanket,  essential oil burner and exercise fit ball. It was a bespoke service where I felt truly  listened to and I would have no hesitation in recommending Next Steps Children’s therapy to any family concerned about their child from an Occupational Therapy perspective. These ladies are clearly hugely experienced and I trust them wholeheartedly as experts in their field”.

Name: Kelly Slater
Reason for coming to Next Steps: School & parents both thought H**** might benefit from some OT intervention for her reading difficulties and limited eating habits.
Age of child and outline of difficulties: 7 yrs old and she seems to be mixing up words when she reads even though her eyes have been tested and her verbal skills are strong – she’s not managing to keep up with written tasks at school. She also has a very very limited eating palate.
Would you recommend: YES
Would you return: YES
Next Steps was recommended to us and after our great experience with them we will also be recommending them onto anyone who asks. Our therapist is so kind & caring and is very professional – guiding both us and our daughter through every step of the process and clarifying everything along the way. We have been so grateful for her expertise & understanding through this whole assessment process.
Many thanks

“I approached Next Steps Therapy for advice after noticing my 1 year old wasn’t hitting his milestones.

I received a very prompt reply from Jane and arranged to meet her later that week.

Jane in all honesty was simply fantastic, professional and knowledgeable but so approachable and understanding.

I cannot fault her in anyway, she gave me manageable pointers during our meeting and a more detailed guidance in an email of how to work with my little boy to get him up and moving and I’m so very grateful and without a doubt I will use Next Steps Therapy in the future.”
